Mission
The primary mission of ExRMed is: Critical Care Where It’s Needed Most
Purpose
The purpose of ExRMed is: Deliver critical medical and rescue services to vulnerable populations in disaster and conflict zones
Approach
ExRMed adopts an expeditionary approach to medical and rescue services, deploying teams to conflict and disaster-affected areas to provide critical services. Expeditionary operations involve teams deploying to foreign regions of the world to deliver the organisation’s mission to vulnerable populations.
ExRMed is a reactive organisation; responding to requests for assistance from governments, international and local NGOs.
ExRMed teams adopt aspects of military expeditionary forces in their approach, such as:
- Medium-weight; light enough to move quickly, but heavy enough to be effective
- Self-sufficiency; capable of operating autonomously for extended periods of time with minimal impact on local resources
- Integration; recruit and train local nationals to provide support, improve security, and secure safe access
- Mission-focused; a clearly defined task and purpose
